Artist Talks

  • Bradbury Art Museum 201 Olympic Drive Jonesboro, Arkansas United States (map)

Join us in the Windgate Gallery of Bradbury Art Museum at 2:00PM for a series of artist talks from Somayeh Faal, Anthony Tungning, and Grace Russell. Each artist are past and present exhibitors in the Delta National Small Prints Exhibition currently on show in the Bradbury Art Museum. Q+A sessions to follow.

Somayeh Faal embraces a cross-disciplinary approach to making artwork that combines art techniques and scientific strategies. She has worked on life, society’s problems, and our response to the world for the past fifteen years. She sees society as a space of artist’s responsibility and one that reflects much of what is back and forth humanity within the world, both on a macro and micro level. The conceptual framework of her projects is consistently driven by the issue in society, life experiences, and their role in establishing identity.

Anthony Tungning’s work primarily focuses on the simple comfort of nature's intricacies. This work is an exploration of how he views the world and his place within it. The natural world is full of small gifts –– the track of the wind, the direction of the water, the cycle of the four seasons. His hope is that by taking the time to explore these moments, he can offer solace in an often- chaotic existence.

Grace Russell is an undergraduate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville pursuing a BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Printmaking. Her work explores how process, repetition, and color relate to comfort and perception.
